Termex is one of the oldest manufacturers of cellulose wool – it has been operating continuously as a family business under the same owner for over 30 years.
As a brand, we are a family business, wholly owned by the Rautiainen family. Our fascination with cellulose wool began with the company’s founder, Keijo Rautiainen, spending several years in exile in the United States, where cellulose wool is a very popular and widely available material. In Scandinavia, too, as early as the 1980s, it began to gain its first supporters due to its ecological nature, excellent thermal properties and ability to protect wooden structures.
The 1990s were a time of rapid expansion for the company, and by the early 2000s, cellulose wool accounted for over 50% of the Finnish pitched roof insulation market—with Termex alone holding around 15%. In a country of just five million, Finland had the highest per capita use of cellulose insulation in Europe. This clearly demonstrates how effective our product is in harsh Nordic conditions.

Termex has always been committed to promoting cellulose insulation across Europe. In 2003, an opportunity arose for e.g. Poland to play a key role in this mission. Currently Termex is providing cellulose insulation to several destinations like Baltics, Nordics, Germany and Poland now focusing on the UK market.
